COSIS.net at Online Information London 2009
One of the most exciting success stories within COSIS.net is the rise of the scientific journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, starting 2001 and gaining market leadership in 2009. Andreas-M. Selignow's lecture gives figures and background information about the success factors not only directly connected to the journal concept (open access and and elaborated ppublic peer review workflow) but also about the environment: the COSIS.net community and its features of alert services, social networking, and conference organisation.
COSIS.net at Frankfurt Bookfair 2009
Copernicus Systems + Technology exhibited 2009 for the first time at Frankfurt Bookfair. Many publishers visited our booth at the digital marketplace (Hall 4.2). The highlight of our successful presentation was our podium discussion on Service based business models with open access and scientific communities
Open access and web communities are transforming business models of scientific publishers from rights based to service based models. By means of the prosperous geo-science community COSIS.net we discussed the future of scientific work in the internet and the implications for publishers. You may have a look at a video of the entire discussion (all in German):
